Youth

Confirmation starts at 6th grade, this may not include becoming a member, since they may already be a member of the church (Baptism celebrates that!). But confirmation is a person's first public affirmation of the faith of the church as being his or her own faith. In other words, the confirmand is taking responsibility for living as a member of the body of Christ and for fulfilling God's purposes. As part of that responsibility:

Youth can help in the nursery, children's church or at VBS after taking the annual Safe Sanctuary training.

Youth can take a leadership role and serve on the church council.

Youth can participate in the United Methodist Women or Macho Men's activities, as well as have special outings to movies or other events with their peers. Often their energy is critical for a successful mission trip or other service activity.
